About this 3D model
Unlimited amusement and opportunities to amaze your friends--how does it float? With a spring? No. Air pressure? Try again. It's Maglev! Twelve 8x3mm magnets hidden in the base, six in the cylinder. The process will require stopping the print just before the magnets are sealed inside. To ensure the magnets are inserted correctly--the poles will need to match so that they deflect--it's best to match the magnets prior to the print and mark them with a marker, so you know which side is up. The top layers of the base are thin; use a dense infill to produce the more hidden look. I used 30% Honeycomb. Polymaker provides fantastic PLA Pro filament in metallic colors (affiliate), which is what I used.
