Modifier Dice These are ten, 16mm d6 dice which each have the same number printed on every side. For example, there is a d6 with 4 printed on every side, a d6 with 10 printed on every side, etc. What's the point of such a set of dice if they roll the same numbers every time? In many games (like D&D for example), dice rolls often have fixed modifiers. For example, you might be asked to roll 2d8 + 4, which means you roll two d8 dice, add them up, and then add 4 to the total. Instead of having to remember the modifier, just grab the matching die from your set of modifier dice and roll it along with the others. Then add up all your dice and you've got your total! Printing Recommendations The included .3mf has the following settings applied in Bambu Studio, so just select the filament you want, slice and print! If you're tweaking the settings or printing from the raw STL files, here are some recommendations for printing a solid set of modifier dice with a nice case: Print the dice with 100% sparse infill. This is important for adding enough weight to the dice so that they roll well and feel like regular dice. If you print with something much sparser, like 15% infill, the dice will be way too light and very easy to accidentally throw too far. Print the dice on a smooth plate, like the Smooth PEI or Cold Plate for a nice finish. Orientation doesn't matter and there is no need for support. The dice should adhere fine to PEI plates with no need for brims if the plates are reasonably clean. Give the plate a quick wipe down with Isopropyl Alcohol to get rid of finger oils for best results. Print the case with the top and bottom case surfaces against a textured plate, like the Textured PEI plate for nice finish. The textured finish along the top and bottom sides of the case adds a nice textured grip. Again, no need for any support support or any brims. The case lid is designed with a 0.3mm snap fit tolerance, which is enough to snap closed fairly easily but not accidentally fall open and have all your dice spill out. Printing the case and dice using different color filaments yields very nice results. PLA Metal filament for the case pairs particularly nicely with a vibrant color PLA Basic for the dice.
