rBox is a compact Network‑Attached Storage (NAS) platform designed for hobbyists who wants full control over their storage solution. Its 3D printed design, built for the high‑performance FriendlyElec CM3588 single‑board computer, comes in three sizes that let you choose between 2, 4 or 6 hot‑plug drive bays: BH2R1C – 2 bays, 247.6 mm case BH2R2C – 4 bays, 361.6 mm case BH2R3C – 6 bays, 475.6 mm case All variants support either 3.5″ or 2.5″ HDDs and can be assembled from the same set of parts with a few additional prints for larger builds. You will received a fully detailed building manual, a Bill of Material, and all files required to print your case. The top and bottom panel can be either 3D printed or LaserCut, with all files required included. You will need a 250mm or bigger build plate to print the top and bottom panels. Hot‑plug drive bays – add or swap disks without shutting down the system. Integrated PWM fan + 270 W PSU – clean power delivery and efficient cooling right inside the case. Accessible M.2 slots – not exposed on the front, but you can reach them by simply removing a small cover for quick upgrades. Modular design – when you expand from 2 to 6 bays, most components stay in place; only a handful of parts need new prints or be replaced. Scaling your rBox – What to expect Because you own the case files, you have the freedom to modify your rBox at any time – currently allowing for adjustments to disk sizes. We’ve designed the system with flexibility in mind, so if we release updated case files in the future, potential upgrades like replacing the SBC or PSU should be achievable through printing and reassembly. You can also personalize your NAS by changing colors and materials, ensuring it stays cool and reflects your style. Future Updates Any update to this series, as inclusion of new boards or features, will be updated on this same item, allowing anyone who already bought a model to have access to the upgrades.
