About this 3D model
3D printable version of GoPro's The Tool thumb screw wrench with the added benefit of holding an extra micro SD card Background Da Tul is a 3D printable version of The Tool, a product made by GoPro to tighten the thumbscrews used on GoPro mounts and accessories. I was able to add a compartment to the design to house an extra micro SD card - a feature that the original product doesn't have while still maintaining a similar form factor. STLs I've made 2 versions of Da Tul available: SD Card Version (2 STLs)Da_Tul_SD_card_faceplateDa_Tul_SD_card_wrench Single Piece Version (1 STL)Da_Tul_wrench_single_piecePrint Instructions Print the parts face down without supports with the following settings: Infill: 30% (or more)Layer Height: 0.15mm (or less)I used PLA, but PETG will hold up better longterm. These cost roughly $0.25 to print, so you can always print off another one when you need it. The Latching Mechanism Please review the end of the YouTube video (see below) for a demonstration on how to make revealing the SD card easier. You need to apply downward pressure towards the back of the piece so that it will release more easily. YouTube I documented my design process on YouTube. I went through over 10 different iterations before arriving at this design.
