About this 3D model

The APX6000 is a radio commonly adopted in enterprise solutions and by emergency service organisations. It's useful to clip the radio to your belt and operate the radio via a wired microphone. We never seem to have enough belt clips for all our radios. Replacement belt clips are expensive, too. Here is my design for a belt clip that will do an effective job to secure the radio to your belt. Here's an example link to a set of wood metal inserts. I used the M4 insert 6mm (up to 10mm in length is possible). The screw is an M4 bolt, 35mm long. https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005004438915148.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.83.50b13bbdSayNb1&algo_pvid=13cd3337-4109-430c-a90e-3df8758e42e1&algo_exp_id=13cd3337-4109-430c-a90e-3df8758e42e1-41&pdp_ext_f=%7B%22order%22%3A%2215%22%2C%22eval%22%3A%221%22%7D&pdp_npi=4%40dis%21AUD%2113.09%2113.09%21%21%218.05%218.05%21%402101c5ac17434879209762327e85ac%2112000029183339747%21sea%21AU%21179731625%21X&curPageLogUid=ZSvUq8IO2TSz&utparam-url=scene%3Asearch%7Cquery_from%3A When screwing the metal insert into the plastic, ensure that it is heated and do it slowly, reheating as you go. I used a soldering iron, heating the insert in-place as I applied it. The clip can be made in most plastics, though I would not recommend straight PLA due to it being brittle. I found PLA+ effective as it gives a bit. Note that all types of PLA don't like being left in the sun, so if that could be a problem, go for PETG or a suitable temperature resistant plastic. My print is made in 1.75mm eSUN PETG Black filament, with 0.2mm layer height and 25% infill on a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon printer. Print supports are required. Both a print profile and the individual STL file is included. I hope that you can find this print useful, too. Remember to leave me some feedback or even a tip to keep me enthused to make more of these drawings. UPDATE 04/04/2026 Added a second belt clip version as a new profile. This alternate clip version has a revised hole of 5mm to accommodate a 4mm brass heat insert. The new clip STL is also included.
