Updated 2024-0221: Some may require an independent pen holder rather than a base, so a separate pen holder has been uploaded. It has been tested and verified to work correctly. If specific needs arise, it can be downloaded independently from the original file. A few days ago, a sudden flash of inspiration struck me as I recalled the scene from the Harry Potter films where characters use a quill pen to write. I thought to myself, "Perhaps I could design a 3D printed version of a quill pen." So, I dedicated some time to conceptualize and create one. To maintain control over the diameter of the pen shaft for 3D printing, I opted for a slender ballpoint pen core (with a 3mm diameter and a maximum outer dimension of 144mm). After numerous design adjustments and printing validations, I finally attained a stable printing outcome. Assembly is remarkably straightforward; simply insert the core from the bottom. I utilized two distinct consumable materials: Tianrui PETG-ECO and Bambu's semi-transparent PETG. Due to the significant discrepancy in printing temperature and fan speed between these two brands of consumables, I have provided two distinct printing configurations. (PS: After repeated trials, I discovered that using Bambu Studio for slicing, the printing quality - wall generator: classic effect, is demonstrably superior to Arachne. As some individuals may utilize OrcaSlicer for slicing, which defaults to Arachne mode, I felt it imperative to offer this reminder.) Should you have gradient-colored filaments at your disposal, you might be able to print an even more exceptional quill pen, haha.
