Print the left handed versions (found in the left handed alternative folder) of this pieces instead of the right handed equivalents. All other pieces are the same: (1)_reel_base (4)_reel_cap (8)_release (9)_release cover Difficulty level: There are 2 files named with _normal and _hard. The hard is REALLY hard. Print it if you are an adult and want a challenge Animals to fish: there is a whale model in this project and I also made a dolphin one that also has 2 difficulty levels here (different projects due to licensing): https://www.printables.com/model/781811-fishing-game-dolphin-bathpool-toy Sizing alternative: You can make the rod shorter or longer if you like. You might want to make it shorter to make it easier, especially for younger kids. To make it shorter simply don’t print the stick mid and attach the stick end directly to the pole instead, you will also only need one base guide + one guide (as opposed to 2 guides for the 2 sticks version) I don’t recommend making it longer as I have not tested (if you do post a comment letting us know how it went!) but if want to you can print more stick mids and guides and attach them before the stick end Printing: There are 15 pieces for the rod + 4 pieces for left hand alternative + 4 files for animals (2 normal + 2 hard to fish) You need 2 of the guide piece and one of each other of the 14 pieces Orientation: I attached the files in the orientation I printed them on I recommend using the same orientation. Note that it may be tempting to print the pole piece standing. I tried - this made the snap inaccurate. I have not attempted to print the sticks standing because I printed them on the mini Supports: Only needed for pole, reel base, sticks and animals (I have not tried the animals without supports) Infill: 2% for animals, 100% for hook (need to weight) and 15% all other pieces Assembling (See pictures below): Start with the (1)_reel_base Add (2)_inner_reel to the (1)_reel_base Tie your string to the (3)_outer_reel Add (3)_outer reel on top of the (2)_inner_reel Screw in the (4)_reel_cap to keep these attached - you do not need to apply a lot of force here, just twist in in the right way Flip everything over Snap in the (5)_pole - this can be a little tight - press against the table if needed Now that you are past passing it against the table, lets add the knob… Put the (6)_knob_screw through the smaller hole of the (3)_outer_reel from the inside to the outside (removing the cap is not necessary but you can if you find it easier) Screw in the (7)_knob Let’s add the release next Twist the (8)_release into the base Add the (9)_release_cover and press so that it snaps in You should now be able to make clicking sounds! Isn’t it great? Let’s add the sticks then First add the guides ((10)_base_guide + (11)_guide x2) to the sticks ((12)_stick_mid and (13)_stick_end) - the (10)_base_guide goes into the (12)_stick_mid the other 2 goes into the (13)_stick_end (check adapting length for instructions if you are changing the length). Note the is a little hole the guides - they should face the center of the stick and snap into the little elevations on the sticks Screw in the 2 sticks ((12)_stick_mid and (13)_stick_end) together Screw in the sticks ((12)_stick_mid and (13)_stick_end) to the (5)_pole Almost done… I promise… Screw in the (14)_grip to the (5)_pole Pass line through the guides and tie the (15)_hook to the bottom of the string Done!
