The Lighthouse of Alexandria, built in the third century BC, was a magnificent lighthouse standing over 100 meters tall on the island of Pharos in Egypt. Regarded as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, it guided sailors with its beacon of light for centuries until it was eventually destroyed by earthquakes.
