This is a ashtray replacement cupholder designed for a Porsche 944 with the late style interior. I had seen a couple replacements for early interiors as well as some poor replacements for the the late interior and decided to take it upon myself to design something I would be happy putting in my car. The cup holder has been designed to be easy to install requiring no modification to the car (besides removing the ashtray) or to the prints. On the right side is a fixed lip which slides over the existing mount in the vehicle. On the left side is an opening which allows the insertion of a small printed plug that retains the cupholder in the opening. The cupholder should be inserted using a rocking motion putting the right side in first and then bringing the left side down and inserting the pin. Similar to other designs the cupholder is a separate piece from the base and can be removed for space and aesthetics when not in use. Support is only needed on the upper and lower lips around the top.
