The Green Knight is the sacred guardian of Bretonnia, his spirit fused with the very essence of the land. He materializes not only to test the faith of Questing Knights but also to confront those who defile these sacred places with evil intent. Legends tell of the sky darkening into twilight, and a green mist rising from the earth, gradually forming into the shape of a figure astride a snorting steed. This mighty warrior wields a radiant sword, his eyes burning with an ethereal light. This is the ultimate and final trial of the Grail quest. Weapons are ineffective against the Green Knight. Some say that swords and arrows pass through him as though he were made of morning mist, while in other stories, even the most grievous wounds leave him unscathed.
