About this 3D model

This is a storage container to keep your filament spool safe and dry. 1kg Bambu Lab spools fit well, not sure about other brands. The spool must have a maximum diameter of 210mm and not be thicker than 75mm. Storing the spools in a plastic bag was somehow not elegant enough for me, but I couldn't find a perfect model. That's why I used the ingenious design by KS2ij as a model. My model is drawn from scratch, except for the key, it may have slight variations in all dimensions. The obvious changes to the original are: - The brackets are less wide. I find it difficult to buy M3x50 screws. - The bottom screw has been replaced with a printed lug to snap into place. The exposed thread of the screw in the original is not elegant. Only use the print profile 1 (version 1.0) when you need. Print profile 2 and 3 are updated versions! You need 4 M3x30 screws . The model is version 1.0, the following improvements may follow: Label to describe the contents Nut as a counterpart for the screw so that it does not grip into the filament 19 March 2024 - Update to version 1.1 I made some updates to the design. So the 2nd print profile is now with version 1.1 while the print profile 1 is still version 1.0. For version 1.1 you need 4 M3x30 screws and 4 M3 nuts. Changes : The thread for the silica gel container has been changed. It is now 'coarser' and should be quicker and easier to use. The holders have been made slightly wider. This allows the screws to be placed further away from the body, making them easier to screw in. The drill holes for the screws are now slightly larger. It is therefore no longer necessary to screw in the screws the full 30 mm. They can simply be pushed through. A hexagonal hole for a nut has been added to the left-hand side of the bracket. This means that the screw is no longer held in the plastic but in the nut. The latches and the gasket are unchanged 31 March 2024 - Update to version 1.2 :-) Changes: The thread for the silica gel container has been removed, it was simply too stiff when first used. It was also tricky to print. A bayonet cap is now used instead of the thread. The cap has also been changed and made less massive. However, as it requires support for printing, it no longer has space on the same printing plate and has been moved to its own plate. The top part of the container, gasket and latches have not been changed and are compatible between versions 1.1 and 1.2 also closed: An elegant way of labelling the box with the contents (see linked remix) Update July 2024: The original design was provided with a few additions. - For spools that are thicker than the Bambulab spools, there is a 15mm higher version: https://makerworld.com/en/models/423798#profileId-327054 - If you want to store two spools at once, you can try the double box . The module has the hight of one normal spool and can be inserted between the main body and the top.
