He was a trusted bodyguard of bandit leader Song Jiang and sought redemption helping the Song dynasty fight the Khitan-Liao but was betrayed after the war. Li Kui is the story archetypal reckless but loyal brute. You can use the figure as a peasant/bandit leader.
