About this 3D model
Model Description:This download contains a highly detailed model of the T-26 mod. 1938 light tank. Documentation and references for the real vehicle were rigorously studied to make the model as geometrically accurate as possible, except in the cases where printability would have to be sacrificed (such as the fender thickness). There are two turret options, one with and one without the ring antenna. Historical Description:The T-26 was a light tank used in the interwar period and throughout World War 2. The vehicle was armed with a 45mm 20K cannon, alongside a 7.62mm DT machine gun. The T-26 would rapidly become obsolete, and production would stop in 1941, though the vehicle would remain in service until the end of the war in 1945. The T-26 was derived from the British Vickers 6-Ton tank. The Soviets would upgrade the armament in 1933 from only having MGs, to also including an AT cannon. Throughout the war over 10,000 T-26 tanks of various versions were produced. The armor on the vehicle was rather thin. maxing out at 20mm, but the high-velocity cannon was very potent for its time. In Armored Advance:In armored advance the T-26 is about as cheap as one can get while still mounting a proper cannon. The armor is insufficient to stop incoming fire, and the vehicle is not particularly mobile. The saving grace of the vehicle, other than the low point cost, is that the 45mm cannon is able to pierce almost all early war armor, and does more damage than the 37mm cannons that many other contemporary tanks are equipped with.
