It uses 1/4 x 1/4 Inch Neodymium Rare Earth Cylinder Magnets N48 Magnets that I bought off of ebay from seller mfcom. There is plenty of clearance between the fridge and the body, so it is easy to remove, even with strong magnets. It is less than 3.5 inches wide (showing up the baby bat), but it does not take up much space.
