About this 3D model

A modular terrain kit designed for FDM printers, specifically to minimize layer lines and difficulties when printing overhangs. The set utilizes standard drink cans for the pillars and 3mm x 2mm magnets for modularity (3mm x 1.5mm will work too). The whole set is designed to be printed on an 180x180mm or larger bed using PLA or PLA+ and 0.4mm - 0.2mm nozzle. The prints in the images were printed in Elegoo PLA+, on a Bambu Lab A1 mini using a 0.4mm nozzle for the platform and walkway bases and 0.2mm nozzle for the more detailed parts. The barriers require gluing together during assembly; a slow setting superglue is recommended. PLA bonds almost instantly when using fast setting or gel type superglue which makes it difficult to orient the faces before they set. It's recommended that you fill the recycled drink cans with expanding foam or another suitable material so that they don't buckle during assembly. Parts can be glued to the cans and set in place using a hot glue gun or a strong contact adhesive. A sturdy base is recommended to provide stability to the pieces. The set can be glued together for permanent fixtures. If you choose to make the pieces modular, be sure to orient the magnets correctly so that the correct pieces attract each other. It's recommended that you dry-fit all pieces before gluing.
