It belonged to the extinct order Endocerida and was one of the largest known marine predators of its time, with estimates suggesting it reached lengths of up to 6 meters or more. Its long, conical shell provided buoyancy, while its tentacles allowed it to capture prey such as trilobites and smaller cephalopods.
