About this 3D model

I'm hoping to design a set of modular building blocks similar to an erector set. I first thought about basically copying the parts from an erector set, but then I realized that it would be better to make something that doesn't require additional hardware to assemble. The connectors are based on http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5028 Any comments or suggestions are welcomed.
