I was very frustrated with my scanner……mmmm….yea it wasn't scanning that cool. So decided to tweak a few things, for starters the laser adjustments, one laser was at 60 degrees not 90, it took me a week pissing around and there is NO help videos on Youtube or on the net, the Makerbot 'A' team need to catch a wake up, they could get one up on the other machines out there. Anyway, no one listens anyway, I put two strips of masking tape one in front and one at the back of the turn table, made small pen marks where the lasers crossed the tape. Then took a big steel roofing square on the table and against the wall to get the lasers spot on. the adjustment is a bit naff, so I had to take the rubbers off on the front and move, wriggled the laser mounting case with my hand, seem to do the trick together with the adjusting screw at the back. I had to tweak bit by bit from one side to the other. My machine is now performing 10 times better than it was when I got it. This is one of the first NEW scans bought an old statue from a charity shop down the road. Bit of gentle advice "Don't mess with the lasers if you don't know what you are doing" it could take you ages to get it right again. Unless you want to break a few windows and increase you stress level.
