About this 3D model

This is a concept test of a mechanical prosthetic finger. The e-NABLE community of volunteers http://enablingthefuture.org/ makes 3D-Printed prosthetic hands available free to children. A new material, Taulman Bridge Nylon filament looks promising for creating 1-piece models with living hinges using FDM printing. This experimental finger will hopefully fit in the forefinger slot of the Flexy-Hand 2 by Gyrobot. The goal is to design a hand with fingers that can be printed in one piece so that the assembly will be reduced to stringing up the tendons. The model has not been tested yet, but a more crude predecessor design was successfully printed with Taulman Bridge Nylon by Jeremy Simon, and the hinges worked just fine! His helpful suggestions led to this design. The design was created in Tinkercad. After a little printing and testing, hopefully Gyrobot and others will be able to use more sophisticated CAD to create designs with the elegance of the Flexy-Hand 2. This thing was made with Tinkercad. Edit it online https://www.tinkercad.com/things/fFX0HMetogO
