About this 3D model
Purpose‑built for flight sim: A printable, mechanically sound single control column that brings Boeing‑style yoke ergonomics to your sim pit without exotic parts or CNC. Originality in this revision: A ground‑up simplification around 75 mm OD PVC, deletion of the linear actuator, and a reshaped control head—now with hall sensors—for precise, drift‑free inputs and long‑term reliability. Essential for builders: All parts fit a 220 × 220 mm bed (Ender‑3 class), use commonly sourced hardware, and come with a complete build guide—so you can focus on flying, not guesswork. Key improvements in this release 75 mm OD PVC core (highly requested) for easier sourcing and a lighter, cleaner build. Linear actuator removed → fewer moving parts, simpler assembly, less maintenance. Hall‑sensor control head + hall‑sensor pitch lane → smooth, precise, contactless measurement. Optional gas‑strut head → markedly better, more realistic feel (widely praised by early builders). Roll‑channel damping → accepts up to two rotary dampers to tame oscillations and improve centring. Note: Suitable dampers are becoming harder/more expensive to source—see “Limitations & sourcing notes.” Refined yoke & control‑head geometry for fit, serviceability, and feel. What’s included (downloads) STL files only for the SCC assembly (yoke, control head, base, and related parts). STL for the gas‑strut head (alternative to spring‑based feel). A link to the build guide (parts list, wiring, tuning tips, exploded views & assembly references). THERE IS NO BUILD OR PARTS GUIDE FOR THE NEW GAS STRUT MOD! The design supports one, two, or none; feel is tunable. The guide notes alternatives and mounting tips. PVC pipe: Must be true 75 mm OD. Regional nominal sizes can vary—verify OD before printing press‑fit components. Controller boards: Use a controller that supports hall‑sensor analog inputs (see guide for wiring).
