Momma, baby and "waterline" dad. The Water BarabarThe Water Barabar, depending on who you ask, is either a charming feature of the wetland landscape or an absolute menace. Found across the river valleys and marshy lowlands of the continent, the Barabar spends most of its time partially submerged, eating whatever vegetation it can reach without fully committing to standing up. It is not a fast animal. It does not need to be. Its plated back, stubborn temperament, and complete indifference to being shouted at have made it effectively predator-proof. They cannot easily be moved once they have decided to sit somewhere, a fact that has derailed more than one military supply operation when a herd settled across a ford that appeared on no map as a potential Barabar habitat.
