About this 3D model

This is a very detailed 3d topo of the Southeast Buttress of Cathedral Peak in the Tuolumne Meadows area of Yosemite. This shows in amazing detail the popular 5.7 climbing route. I made it from a LIDAR dataset collected to study nitrogen export and made available on http://opentopo.sdsc.edu/. The LIDAR point cloud was gridded to a 0.5m resolution. You can see my tutorial video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4-ICkvyJv0 The print took 18 hrs. It was sliced with Simplify3d at default high quality settings and printed in PLA on a FlashForge.
