About this 3D model
Starting in the 13th century, more and more Madonna and child represent tenderness between Mary and baby Jesus. With the Renaissance and its new rules of proportions, the baby Jesus appears more and more realistic: a baby's proportions are not the same as an adult's. Also, the stiacciato technique enables more details and refinement in sculpture. Therefore, the Madonna and child from the Renaissance, such as this one, are very differnt from the Gothic ones.
