About this 3D model
Serrano's interpretation of the Pietà, in the light of abstraction, renders a horrific and terryfying vision between figurative and abstract art, as if the traditional representation of the Pietà was mutating into abstract forms. Indeed, in the three apparently strictly abstract forms, the spectator may perceive limbs: a hand, a foot, an arm, a head. It therefore renders the horror and pain of the Christ's sacrifice for humanity and greatly challenges the more classical representations of the Pietà to which the speectator may be used to.
