About this 3D model

This Sphinx was found in Sparta, Attica. The Sphinx is a recurrent subject in both Greco-Roman and Egyptian arts. In both cultures it was used as a guardian, a protector of sacred places such as temples, palaces or tomstones of important figures of the society. Its fierceness and its intelligence made it a fearful creature throughout myths and legends. The pink traces of pink on the wings, tail and lips on the state lead us to suggest it used to be painted in red.
