About this 3D model

Commissioned at the death of the scientist (1836), the monument had numerous preparatory studies. The cenotaph, still unfinished in 1!46, was only erected in 1877, marginally following the initial project and inserting the medallion with Segato's portrait on the sarcophagus. The serpents emerging from behind the scientist's head allude to his experiments to petrify organic tissues.
