Carl Frederk Tietgen (1829 - 1901) was an important Danish industrialist, he played a vital role in the industrialisation of Denmark, with some of his companies still working today. His portrait was done by Rasmus Andersen, who was a Danish sculptor, known for his naturalistic portraits.
