Roman philosopher, politician and lawyer. Cicero was an impressive orator who greatly influenced Latin language and literature. His writings had particular influence during the 18th century Enlightenment on writers like Sir Walter Scott. The dating of this bust is unknown, but it is believed to be an adapted copy of an original marble sculpture from The Musei Capitolini, Rome.
