About this 3D model

This is my 3rd spool hub design and is much easier for changing spools (design 2 didn't cut the mustard). Simply slide the spool on and off the holder, that's it. It has a slight ridge on either end to stop the spool falling off and a housing on either end for a 608 bearing. It allows for spools up to 80mm in width and the hub has a total diameter of 48mm so spools with center holes 50mm and greater are suitable. Designed in 2 pieces to allow for easy printing and low filament usage, no support required. Print the cylinder and an end cap (I used PLA), clip together, insert a bearing in either end and slide onto your 8mm rod (I have a nut either side to stop it moving sideways). I've included 2 end cap designs. Part2 is tight to fit if your printer isn't accurate. Part2a should be much easier to fit but I have not tested it yet. Even though this is a work in progress I am using this as my only spool holder now and am absolutely loving it. I'm using it on the same overhead setup as my 1st spool hub design http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:364581. I'll upload more pictures soon.
