The original metal spool holder on the X1C is very close to one of the AMS wires. There are some other solutions to extend the spool out but most of them require longer screws. This design slides over the original spool holder and provides the extension needed to clear the obstructions. You will need to pinch the two metal flaps at the end of the spool holder together to be able to slide this on. Do this with the spool holder already instealled on the machine. Once the cover is on you can use needle-nosed pliers to spread the flaps back out to secure the cover from wobbling. Probably not a great idea to take it on and off repeatedly but the metal seemed strong enough to handle being bent without immediately snapping.
