I realized that these LED shop lights could make excellent studio lighting if I mounted them to a light stand, so that's exactly what I did! They are far brighter than the doubly expensive video lights I was using so I'm super happy. The conversion only requires one small printed part to ensure that the light is securely connected to the tripod. This print is designed specifically to work with this Mini Ball Mount by Colorado Tripod Company. I chose it for the outstanding quality to price ratio :) Connect those using two 1/4-20 nuts and one 1/4-20 bolt (full thread, any length). Connect the tripod head onto a light stand (or whatever standard 1/4-20 mount you'd like) and you're all set! Watch this video for more detailed instructions : This should work for most shop lights, and probably plenty of other objects as well...it just needs a surface that is sturdy but thin enough to get the tripod mount through and tighten a nut on the other end. I used Hykolity Shop Lights, and I would recommend them for their brightness, price, and 5 year warranty.
