About this 3D model
This plaster depicts Balzac's famous gown. The writer was known for wearing his Gown while writing at home. In order to realize this piece, Rodin asked Balzac’s tailor to provide him with a real Balzac’s gown. After arranging the placement, the artist realized the study which came out as a strange plaster ghost, an empty gown. The Gown was used as a study of the intricate drapery that would then have been reproduced on the “Monument to Balzac”.
