The Bird-A-Potty is being presented to you tonight after a special request from a longtime friend! With only 7 pieces, it's by far the easiest birdhouse to print! Very little assembly, few colors—it's clearly one of the simplest projects in my collection. It is also a quick print for a birdhouse. Just like the other birdhouses, drainage holes, ventilation holes and easy access to the inside of the birdhouse for seasonnal cleaning are part of the design. ONE IMPORTANT POINT TO NOTE, HOWEVER: Given the proportions, and wanting to maintain my standards for printing on a mini printer, the birdhouse footprint is small. In fact, it's the minimum width/depth for small birds, which is 4" x 4". The footprint is 110mm x 110mm, just over 4", and can accommodate small birds such as Carolina Wrens, Chickadees, Titmouses, and Warblers. Other species can probably also find refuge there, though I unfortunately don't know them all. That being said, you can easily enlarge the birdhouse to suit larger species. If you have a larger format printer, you can easily enlarge the model by 130% and print it on a printer (for example) with a 220x220x250 mm build volume, such as an Ender, or a 256x256x256 mm build volume, such as the Bambu Lab P1S. These are just a couple of examples. If you decide to enlarge it, remember to adjust your hardware accordingly. Regarding the hardware, you will need (in its original size) four M3x10mm self-tapping screws and four M4x10mm self-tapping screws. Regarding the project's main points, the following is important to know: Only one part requires supports, and that's the base, for the counterbores. Just like the previous School Birdhouse project. All parts are already oriented correctly for printing. File names are coded by color and quantity. Only one part requires a color change per layer, and that's the "Bird-A-Potty" sign. This can be done on any type of printer; no AMS is needed, simply by making a color change at the correct layer. With all color changes and settings already configured. Please remember that my color changes are layer-based, not painted. You must slice the area first to see the color changes applied in the preview window. ANOTHER IMPORTANT POINT: Since the birdhouse footprint is smaller than usual, a shorter birdhouse support has been created. You can use it or not, just as you can use the old support found on all the other birdhouses. It's entirely up to you. The Bambu Lab file includes the short support. I strongly recommand 7 walls at least for the support, to have a strong and sturdy support for the birdhouse. Finally, as usual, i recommand to do some dry fit checks (without glue) to have a good idea of how the part fit together. Otherwise, it's the same as all my other projects.
