About this 3D model

STEP files available in “Download STL/CAD Files”! Update 2024-12-09 : I made them slightly longer (235mm vs 220mm), tweaked the sides and improved the notch. My 3D printer is an unfinished basement. I decided to salvage an unused closet rod to hold my filament spools. I made two versions, one with 12mm (½") radius and one with 14mm (9/16") radius. It drops down by 235mm (9" 1/4), which was just perfect for a basement where studs at 2.2m high (7'2"). I highly recommend to print with PETG due to its flexibility and resistance to tension over time. I have 8 of these, each with up to 10 full spools (10Kg) for nearly a year by now and it hold them great! Requires A bare closet rod with a notch. Too short means you can't put many spools. Too long will be hard to manipulate and too heavy! I recommend not going over 10Kg unless you are very strong. I used these adjustable closet rod 48" to 72" (122cm to 183cm) : These seem to be a similar option. 4 Drywall screws or other screws you have on hand. Contact me if you need more dimensions.
