If you are looking for a universal mini spool adapter for Bambulab printers with the AMS Hub, then this is for you. I have been trying out several other models to work with the 250g mini spools from Jayo and Sunlu, but none of them worked well. Ultimately, I created my own adapter which works perfectly with my Bambulab X1, but it should work with other Bambulab printers with the AMS Hub as well. How-To: There are two model versions you can choose from, (1) the regular AMS version and (2) the AMS Hydra version (download from “Raw Model Files)”. The latter model is about 1cm slimmer and the filament clips have been moved further to the center of the adapter so that it will work with the AMS Hydra mod should you be using one. Print Part A and fill it with steal beeds like caliber 177 (4.5mm /0.28") for air guns which you can buy online from known marketplaces. This will put some extra weight on the adapter and allows for better feeding and retracting of filament with the AMS. Place the spool on the shaft of Part A, print the screw (either the smaller or larger version as need be for your spools) and tighten it on the spool adapter. Finally, print Part B and screw it onto Part A - done! Optional deflector: You can print and use the optional deflector which helps to avoid filament jumping off from small spools when retracting. Filament jumping off from small spools can cause winding of filament around the adapter. The deflector will fix this if you run into this issue. How to use: Place the deflector on top of the spool and then fixate it to the spool with the printed screw. Print instructions: Print this with PETG, 0.24mm or 0.28mm layer height works fine for me. Printing Part A and B may take 2 hours each, but it is well worth the time. The separately downloable clips are for those who have already printed earlier versions of the adapter without these clips on the model. You can glue them onto the adapter if you like. This is not needed for versions ≥ 1.2. Have fun with this adapter - comments are welcome.
