About this 3D model

WHAT IS IT? This stand is designed to steadily hold your original “fat" model PS3 vertically. The original “fat” PS3 is still by far my favorite model. Although it has issues with overheating, with some TLC, it's still a very capable gaming system and media center to this day. In an effort to keep my old system alive, I discovered that there's a reason this model of PS3 was almost always shown on its side by Sony: most of its heat vents are on the opposite side, the side that would be facing up if you place the console vertically. Because heat rises, it certainly can't hurt to make sure these vents are at the top. This model was designed using an unofficial, publicly-available 3D model of a fat PS3. Could this be made smaller? Yeah, probably. Feel free to modify. I just wanted to be sure that the stand was sturdy for my treasured old console. NO ADDITIONAL HARDWARE NEEDED MY PRINT SETTINGS My first full-size print of this turned out to be super flimsy due to the size and thickness of the thing. I didn't want to sacrifice those things due to the girth of an original PS3, so I opted to print with much higher infill and top/bottom layers. I sliced mine at 45% infill with PLA, 5 bottom layers and 4 top layers. 3 walls. I have been printing test versions of this to see how they fit on my PS3. I think I've finally got it right, and the model I'm confident in is next in line to be printed. UPDATES Version 6: After much trial and error, I think I've finally got the measurements right. Version 4: The model that I used of a fat PS3 was slightly smaller than a real one. The PS3's height is difficult to measure because of its curvature, so I've had to resort to trial and error. I believe this iteration is good, though.
