About this 3D model
I love my Ikea Markus chair, but I was not satisfied with the arm rests as they were too high and had an uncomfortable angle. I tried to modify them with this solution from rubenrcm , but they kept breaking under pressure after some time. Therefore, I decided to create my own sketch inspired by the ones above and improve the design for more durability and printability. This mod lowers the front part of the arm rest so it sits at a 25° angle. The changes in my design: shorter length to eliminate the unnecessary gap reduced almost all the hole sizes because they were too big thicker walls to reinforce the structure designed sequential bridging into the holes so it can easily be printed without supports (credit to MakersMuse and some other who showed this technique years ago - Video )
