(at top) 7.6 Description: A maiolica jar with spout and handle and a decorative twisted-wire effect between the neck and the spout. It has an everted rim and a narrow, round foot. The body is decorated, in blue, yellow, black and white glaze and inscribed: AAs ROSATI, below the spout and the date 1544. The back is white with blue scrolled decoration. It is decorated with troffei (trophies) and possibly contained rosewater. Italian, Castel Durante. Date Made: 16th century AD
