The filament runout sensor I bought online for my 3D printer was poorly made and often resulted in false positives, causing the equipment to stop, especially when feeding at high speeds (I often encountered this problem when making an automatic spool holder). Therefore, I made my own filament runout sensor. The circuit diagram and PCB are here: https://oshwhub.com/zaehwang/duan-liao-jian-ce-qi Suitable for 1.75mm diameter filament, it uses a micro switch with a roller and a low-pass filter made with resistors and capacitors to reduce false positives. It works well in practice. PS: Compared to the filament runout sensor I bought on Taobao, it uses a 0-ohm resistor and a 100nF capacitor for filtering. This design uses a 47k ohm resistor and a 1uf capacitor for filtering, which significantly improves the effect. When used with my self-made automatic spool holder, the filament runout sensor I bought online often caused false positives and shutdowns, while my self-made one does not have this problem.
