About this 3D model
** UPDATE 2014-01-09 ** Just added a slightly "face lifted" version of my mount. The dimensions and function of the mount is exactly the same as before, it just (in my opinion) looks way better now :) ** UPDATE 2014-01-05 ** Discovered that I failed to account for the heigth of the washers when creating the grooves for the motor mounting screws which will make the middle screw protrude and the belt will rub against it.. Uploaded a new version with 0.8mm deeper grooves.. Sorry about this guys.. **** I wanted a new mount for the Y-motor on my Mendel but I couldn't find anything that I really liked so I designed my own version. Nothing fancy but I think it turned out pretty good.. I decided to use a 608 bearing for the idler och it's placed so the belt runs parallel to the printbed, well almost anyways :) It has slots so you can tilt the motor to tension the belt and the grooves for the screws are dimensioned so that a washer can be used to distribute the load when tightening down the motor.. This is version 1 of the mount and I might do some changes to it later on, but for now it's looking good and I will run it a while and then we'll see if there's something that needs to be done with it.
