I needed a simple spool holder solution for my Prusa i3 MK3S+ clone inside my open Ikea Lack enclosure. Here's what I came up with – a quick-to-print frame that attaches to the Lack and uses my favorite spool holder design. What you'll need: 3D printed parts from the included files Your preferred spool holder (design of your choice) 1-3 screws Screwdriver Optional: Drill Instructions: Print the parts: Material: PLA or PETG Infill: 13% (triangles for strength) Walls: 3 Top/Bottom Layers: 4/5 No supports needed Print time: About 4 hours 10 minutes Assemble the spool holder: Insert the roller pin into the roller. Add 608 bearings to the pins. Attach the assembled roller to the filament holder. Mount to your Lack: Place an empty spool on the holder to gauge placement. Ensure the spool doesn't touch the enclosure's bottom or ceiling. Mark the mounting spot on the Lack frame. Pre-drill holes (optional). Screw the frame into place. Enjoy your new spool holder!
