About this 3D model
this is to be called the 'gripstruder' for its exceptional griping of feedstock. 12/1/2014: recent addition of file xt5.stl , that has support that needs cut away, it deals with prolong use fatigue, and unifies lever pulley arm. best if level arm that holds bearings is made of ABS. other parts PLA is ok, just so much stress load is on arm that head cycles from motor heat tend to wear the original part out, abs is more graceful. part hinge is bolt of motor, and other parts are not under stress of load where it heats up. video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcHtu8XVnBk&feature=youtu.be i have uploaded a part called mount_withbolton, it is an update that has bolt holes to fit on seemecnc mount plate requires 2 608 bearings, a 2inch 6/32 bolt, 2 washers, a high compression spring, and a 3mm flat heat bolt about 6mm in length, and a flat head 6/32 1 inch long phillips bolt. then whatever bolts you use to mount to your motor, also requires a bowden metal grip likely from seemecnc. this design was inspired for faster printing with my rostock max delta bot. this design allows for strong grip of feedstock and 4 times the surface area to grip as normal extruder pinch grips. the mechanism that holds feedstock is the pressure between two 608 bearings, each bearing has twice the contact surface of the R2ZZ bearing, and then there are 2 of them. this allows 4 times the surface area to apply pressure, meaning more force can be applied and feedstock will not reshape. I have tested this extruder design up to 800mm/m flow rates.
