About this 3D model
This is another variation of a mechanical dice set box. What’s special about it, is that it has a two stage opening mechanism, operated by a single turning knob. By rotating the knob, the seven doors will rotate open before the 7 compartments appear in a linear motion. This is thanks to an expanding pulley mechanism. The box is 100% 3D-printed, the only thing helpful for assembly is some kind of lubricant to achieve a very smooth operating mechanism. The whole assembly is held together by a printed screw and doesn’t have any pressfitted parts, which makes it easier to print, since the tolerances do not matter that much (a clean print will still be needed for best functionality). It is overall a fun project to build if you are interested in mechanical motion principles.
