About this 3D model
https://www.kyoushuneko.com/ Ashigaru Vol. 1 | Feudal Japanese | Late Sengoku | April 2026 Fantasy Release This one's been a long time coming. We did Ashigaru before, but those were fantasy-intended — the look was never meant to be historically accurate. I always wanted to go back and do them properly. Cleaner armor, better proportions, grounded in the actual Late Sengoku period, and actually built for ranked tabletop play rather than just looking good as individual models. This is that remake. Proper spear infantry you can field as a real unit in any feudal Japanese setting — whether you're running a historical warband or a fantasy army. I wanted something with enough variety that an eight-man squad doesn't look like eight copies of the same guy. What's in this release: Ashigaru — Idle Standing — eight poses at attention with spears raised and sashimono banners; your back ranks and reserve units sorted in one go Ashigaru — Defending — eight low-braced spear poses; I built these specifically with the image of a line holding against a cavalry charge in mind Ashigaru — Charging — eight forward-lunging assault poses; these are the ones that got me the most excited during sculpting, honestly Modular Body System — eight armored bodies with open hands for yari spear swaps; mix across pose sets to reduce visual repetition across large units Jingasa Head Variants — eight heads with the updated jingasa and chin strap detail I reworked for this release; fits across all the bodies Weapon & Banner Pack — yari spears and sashimono banners as separate pieces; also includes a spear head component so you can fit brass rods if you prefer a sturdier spear option All models are 32mm scale on 20mm bases. The modularity is the thing I'm most proud of here — mix the bodies, heads, and weapons across all three pose sets and you've got more than enough variety to fill out a full warband without it looking repetitive. This is Vol. 1, and I already have the next armor variant styles planned. The head system and proportions are designed to carry forward so everything stays compatible as the line grows. Compatible with: any feudal Japan tabletop game.
