Turn the screw to tighten the crane to lock it into position. Loosen to move crane to new position. DESCRIPTION My take on a Hoth Echo Base Hangar Gantry. This type of platform was seen in Echo Base on Hoth in the Empire Strikes Back. I found that many already being sold are too short to span a Kenner X-wing. This model solves that problem with an extension assembly that widens the span. 14 simple pieces make up the main structure of this model. All are simple to print and require minimum supports. Each column consists of 6 pieces Gantry Base 1 - The foot Gantry Base 2- Strut Bottom Gantry Base 3- Bracing Bottom Gantry Base 4- Strut Gantry Base 5-Bracing Top Gantry Base 6- Strut Top The Platform consists of the following pieces: 1. Access Cover 2. Bridge Connector (print 2) 3. Bridge Deck (print 2) 4. Bridge Extension 5. Bridge Rail 1 (print 2) 6. Bridge Rail 2 7. Bridge Rail 2A 8. Bridge Trestle 1 (print 20) 9. Bridge Trestle 2 (print 4) (print 4 more for Extension Deck) 10. Extension Rail 1 (print 2) 11. Extension Rail 2 (print 2) 12. Gantry Clip (print 4) (+4 morefor Extension) 13. Gantry Light Clip 14. Ladder (print 2) The Bridge Deck - Extension inserts between the 2 halves of the Gantry and makes it long enough to span a Kenner X-wing. That's 12 1/2" or 318mm. Regular span w/o the extension is 9 1/2" or 241mm. See pics. Instructions: This bridge requires assembly and super glue. The columns of the Gantry Base are pretty self-explanatory. Use the exploded views to illustrate the parts and where they go. For the guardrails, I liked taking the Bridge Trestle ! pieces and inserting them into the Bridge Rail 1 first, then attach the Bridge Rail 2 as the handrail on top. Now glue and insert all the Trestle 1 pieces into the Bridge Deck half. Now dab a drop of super glue on the back side of all the joints in the handrail assemblies. You may want to rubber band it to a small square or piece of wood to make sure it dries square to the Bridge Deck. Use the Gantry Clips to tie the 2 spans together, then mount on the assembled pillars (Gantry Bases 1-6). I use the standard clip, but I've included 3 other sizes, 025, 030, and 050 to accommodate for printer inaccuracies. To make the larger span, you need to assemble the Extension Rails and (2x) Bridge Trestle 2 pieces and insert them into the Extension Deck (see pics) The ladders just slide into the holes in the side of the Bridge Deck. NOTES: There will be additions to this listing. I'll make some add-ons to the gantry such as: Clip on lights(DONE).
