One of the most frequently commissioned sculptors of the 1960s, Jeno Kerenyi developed a language of sculpture taht combined Socialist Realism topoi with twentieth-century forms. The Genius was originally a memorial of the Hungarian Workers' Movement. The relating brazen-legend was removed after the political changes in 1989-90.
