When I started designing 3D parts, one of the first real challenges I faced was tolerance . On paper, two parts with identical dimensions should fit together. In reality… they don’t ? This model was created to measure precisely how much tolerance is needed for parts to fit together depending on your printer, filament, nozzle size, and print quality. The gauge includes: A 1 cm square insert and matching holes with tolerances from 0.0 mm to 1.0 mm , increasing by 0.1 mm each time. This allows you to quickly identify the perfect clearance for press-fit, snug-fit, or loose-fit parts on your printer. From my own experience: On a MakerBot Method, a comfortable fit started around 0.4 mm . On a Bambu Lab X1C, friction appears around 0.2 mm , and 0.1 mm can still work with light force. To go further, I also added: Angle test plates , changing every 5° , designed to be printed without supports , to evaluate overhang limits. Thickness testers ranging from 0.5 mm to 8 mm to check extrusion consistency and minimum printable thickness. The model is designed to be multi-color friendly , making labels and readings easy when using AMS or multi-material printers. Key Features ?
