About this 3D model

An HO scale model (reduced by 80%) of a 230 kilovolt transmission tower commonly seen around North America. The finished model measures approximately 3" x 6"x 9 1/8" tall with a 3" square base. The kit and print files contain all truss pieces and insulators, all components are designed to be printed flat and assembled. Included is a PDF outlining the assemly sequence and a Cura printing profile to aid in printing. A note on assembly and printing. My prints were done on an Ultimaker 3 using standard PLA on a glass build plate with a bit of repositionable spray adhesive. The assembly of the kit can be a bit fiddly - okay a lot. The parts are very small and delicate, it usually takes the better part of a day to clean and assemble the parts, frequently parts must be re-printed during the assembly. The insulators are typically dark opaque brown and the tower itself is galvanized steel.
