About this 3D model
These four large bronze figures of captives represent the nations whose defeat by France led to the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678-1679. Spain is an ardent young man looking hopefully to the sky, the Dutch Republic a man in the prime of life with fierce, rebellious expression, Branderburg a mature figure full of sadness, and the Holy Roman Empire a dejected old man. The helmets, shields and halberds are evocations of ancient triumphs.
