About this 3D model

UPDATE: DS1 has been updated to the significantly improved DS2 . https://makerworld.com/en/models/149225#profileId-162800 Hello! I got tired of waiting on someone to design a proper door seal for the X1C. So I designed one myself. (After a year of continuous ASA printing this problem deserved a solution that is better than a piece of tape over the gap…) After a significant amount of development I am proud to release the DS1 (Door Seal One). At the end of the day , DS1 is close to the door seal the X1 series should have been shipped with since day-one… DS1 is a flexure-based door seal that is designed for non-intrusive installation inside the door of the X1E, X1C, X1, and P1S series printers. DS1 closes up the gap between the chamber door and external panel via a moving flexure design. This allows for a positive-seal to be achieved reliably without restricting the range of movement of the door nor interfering with the printhead inside through normal printing operations. DS1 reduces heat loss ( increasing chamber temp & reducing power costs are benefits of this ) and VOC emissions from the chamber without compromising looks, changing significant components, or “Door-Open” operations. Printing Requirements: These are tight toleranced but long-term durable parts; materials and printing settings are important! DS1 has been developed with Bambu Lab's TPU 95A HF as the primary material. Others may work but have not been tested. Print the 3 parts one at a time, not 3 in a single build . The stringing of TPU between parts causes multiple problems . Please use Arachne, 3 Wall Loops, 3 Top/Bottom Shell Layers, 20% + Infill (I have used Hexagon) Please verify that end small ends of parts P1 & P3 are supported. Please use 10mm Width 3M VHB tape. The thickness (1.1mm) of this VHB tape is critical to the design; feel free to press the foam tape to the parts firmly to 20 seconds, this will not take the end result out of tolerance as the foam expands back to 1.1mm rapidly. It's time that tape bites the dust! Please enjoy! :)
